if you look closely, you'll notice the furry-tailed squirrel on this bottle of sparkling water. i had this fine beverage with my "interesting," but free, hamburger and fries. they lost my luggage in germany, so i got a free lunch from lufthansa. my hamburger was undercooked and orange in some parts. wonder what that means... the fries looked like they were cooked in fish batter: bright yellow and tasted like fish. mmm...

here are my fine hosts, daniel and cecilia. they're fun swedes. you can see daniel's sister's head in the left of the frame. she was fastening her coat when we left a little café. she's a massage therapist in L.A. and was visiting for the holidays. this picture was taken on the street in the district known as "Haga," an old part of town. there were all sorts of vendors outside as part of a christmas market.

this is an old church in the city. i didn't get the name... it's probably on a map in my bag. inside was really nice, but i didn't want to take pictures while mass was underway. i walked in and sat down during mass. it was nice, kinda peaceful. there was no diddlin' goin' on, as far as i could tell. it must not be a catholic church...

cecilia asked me why i was taking a shot of this street. she said it's a crappy part of town. well, it was a bit dark and dreary, but i touched it up and made it look a little more "painted." i think it came out nicely. i'll post the original for comparison. most of the side streets in gothenburg are like this one — narrow and cobbled with apartment houses stuck together.
